1/30/25 Highlight: Girls’ Varsity Squash

By OWEN LEE and SOPHIE ZHU

On Saturday, Jan. 25, Exeter’s girls’ varsity squash team drove to compete against Phillips Andover in a challenging lineup of matches and ended up conceding 0-7 to Andover.

This season, the team holds a record of 1-4 after competing against many challenging opponents, such as Deerfield and Groton School. Upper Lana Wu commented on competing against Andover. “We haven’t played against them this season yet, so I’m excited. The team has been struggling a little bit this season in terms of game, but we’re all supportive of each other.”

Wu went on to explain the pre-match routine. “The day before games we usually go easier so that we get enough rest to play our best on game day. I like to make sure I don’t end up dehydrated so I usually drink water.”

“Something I’m looking forward to this season is improving,” Wu continued. “I’m new to the sport — I just started playing this year — so I just want to improve my skills and get better.”

Despite the challenges, the team remains optimistic and focused on growth. The Exeter girls’ varsity squash team is excited for success in the games to come.
