10/31/24 Highlight: Varsity Football

On Oct., 19, the boys varsity football team went head to head against Deerfield Academy. Exeter picked up a huge win, winning by almost forty points. The final score against deerfield was 49-10
When asked about how the team played, senior and captain Ewan Newton commented, “The team played great, especially the defense, contributing to three touchdowns and taking over the entire game.”
Senior Preston Otter added a similar sentiment. “The team played well in all three phases: offense, defense, and special teams.”
The team played very well on all fronts, helping them find the strength to pull out a strong win against Deerfield.
When asked about a great highlight during the game, Otter reflected, “My favorite moment was Levy’s touchdown. The team was so happy for him that we rushed the endzone.”
The team’s positive attitude helped drive the team to an incredible win.
“Finishing out the season against two strong teams that will test our integrity and skills as a team.” Newton added on the topic of the team’s goals for the rest of the season.
The team is looking forward to continuing their amazing season, and is excited to try and finish off on a strong note.
As the Exeter boys’ varsity football team gears up for the final stretch of the season the excitement and determination are palpable. With their recent victories over Brunswick and Deerfield Academy, the players have solidified their confidence and unity, which will be crucial as they face sixth-ranked Williston Northampton before their big E/A game in the upcoming weeks.
