10/31/24 Highlight: Boys’ Varsity Water Polo
By LOGAN BECKERLE and KEVIN THANT
On Saturday, Oct. 26, boys’ water polo had a doubleheader and senior night against Loomis Chaffe and Hamden Hall. In their first game against Loomis, Exeter performed dominantly, having a lead as big as 15-1 against the team. For some team members, it would be the last water polo game they have ever played at Exeter.
“I think the seniors played really well,” said upper James Faulhaber. The seniors gave it their all, and their energy was impossible to miss within the stands of Nekton.
Against Hamden Hall, the team had a slower start. Big Red was tied with Hamden Hall 6-6 until they began to pull away, ending with another dominant 14-10 victory. “The team played well together,” remarked Captain Winston Wang.
But these two games were not just any regular season games for Exeter. Aside from being senior night, it also placed them in playoff contention. “I’m really looking forward to what we can do this year,” Wang commented.
The boys will take on Andover next week and in the NEPSAC Liquid Four Tournament soon after. Hopefully, Exeter will finish the season with the same dominance that they’ve shown all season.
