Stratford Fashion

Hello, average-looking Exeter community! For the under-the-rock dwelling nomads of campus, we are away in England this fall with fellow expatriates studying Shakespeare and avoiding science. One thing we haven’t been avoiding, however, is the flurry of fashion that has come to life on the Exeter campus. We all thought we were lucky enough to have theexeterdresscode accompany Trendwatch, but then we had super edgy streetsideeditorial, and now we have theexeterissue! We know we speak for all of the other kids at Stratford when we say we’re all happy to see so many unique, innovative and stylish teens showcase their rad looks. In fact, we were so proud, that we hated the idea of missing out on a full term of the experience. So, we all decided to create thestratfordstyleguide featuring the farm country couture and urban chic styling of the ten models (eleven when you count Mr. Miller) on the trip. It’s going to be hard, but we’re all dedicated to looking good for our fanbase back at Exeter. We’ll probably create an Instagram account, since only hipster teens, our target audience, check that stuff out. If you think this is going to be another blog of the same bowties and Lily Pulitzer outfits, you are probably right–but this is much, much more. To give you a taste of what thestratfordstyleguide is all about, here is an example reporting on one of the best outfits the farm has ever seen.Last week, all eleven of us journeyed to Hereford Cathedral School, a private day school that unfortunately doesn’t have cool fashion blogs like Exeter. After admiring our brusque accents, the English students quickly grew tired of our imposing presence. Except for Eli. On Monday morning, Eli arrived at school in what seemed like a basic blue Oxford shirt with black pants. But once we all gathered as a large American clump on the leather couches in the cafe, we realized that what Eli was wearing was anything but basic. Knotted securely around his neck was a brightly patterned tie that screamed confidently, “Hi, I’m here. I’m Eli.” Demonstrating his true eye for the dopest looks, Eli finished off the outfit with black athletic socks and black leather sandals. But he didn’t stop there. As lunchtime rolled around, we saw that only a true fashionista could make an outfit go from day, to mid-day. Gone were his athletic socks and bright tie! Reminiscent of the peep toe heel, Eli bared all ten of his toes for a sexy, casual look, that had all the British girls going wild. (No, seriously, they love him.)And there you have it, Exonians! Cool fashion reporting from cool Exeter teens. Stay tuned for next week as we continue to guide you through the hip stylings of more of our fellow Stratford students (and the ever fashionable Mr. Miller).
