2/06/25 Highlight: JV Boys’ Hockey
By LOGAN BECKERLE and ARJUN VELAN
On Feb. 1, the boys’ junior varsity hockey team traveled to play New Hampton School in an away game. Big Red dominated the whole game, not letting up a single goal, leading to a 4-0 victory. Keeping their undefeated record alive.
“Everyone tried their best at every moment, passing the pucks around, seeing opportunities instead of being greedy and trying to shoot and score,” mentioned prep Tyler Cho. “We had to focus on passing the puck around more and supporting each other, while on the bench. I think we did that very well and it reflected on the game, as we played well.”
Cho furthered, “Throughout the game, we were in penalty kill situations, where we had fewer players on the ice because of penalties against us, but we still played great, not letting them score a single goal.”
Part of the success was due to their goalie, Andrew Boova. “I want to shout out Andrew Boova, during the game, he played well, saving lots of goals,” said Cho.
“Boova had a great game,” furthered prep Sebastian Duarte. “He’s been making great plays for our team all season.”
Overall, the team’s efforts are showing as they continue their undefeated season, extending their records to 10-0. Their teamwork and adaptability are making for a season of great success.
