By AUDREY KIM, JINMIN LEE, and JAYDEN OH
On Oct. 5, the boys’ varsity soccer team played against Brewster Academy, leading and controlling throughout the entire game and ending with a crushing 8-0 victory.
“The game went really well because our coordination as a team was on point,” recalled senior and co-captain Jaylen Bennett. “By halftime, we were leading 6-0, and we even subbed out most of our starting players to give our younger players a chance to play. ”
“I want to shout out Jaylen Bennett for today’s game,” senior Tripp Rondero said, agreeing. “He scored one of the best goals I have ever seen in my life. The ball hit one post, then the other, and went in. He’s a great player, and I’m glad he scored two goals.”
“Today was a good game,” reflected senior and co-captain Sebastian Hiller. “We really showed our prowess today; I only touched the ball once, and I’m the goalie, which means that our defense was great. I want to shout out Alex Sahinoglu for his strong defense today. The team played well overall.”
Overall, the boys’ varsity soccer team played strong, owing their success to their teamwork, coordination, and powerful defense.
