11/14/24 Highlight: Girls’ Varsity Soccer
By KEVIN THANT and FORREST ZENG
Exeter’s girls’ varsity soccer descended upon Andover for their last match of their season at the annual fall E/a. Amidst crowds of student fans, alumni, and family, the team fought hard against a tough team and came down to the final score with a 0-3 concession.
“We definitely made progress from last year,” said senior captain and goalkeeper Aubrey Silvestri. “It was a great way to end the season and for the seniors to go out on that game cause we were super bonded.”
Exeter responded well against Andover’s offense with a lot of great defensive play and effort. “Our defense played really well. Shoutout to goalkeeper Aubrey Silvestri,” said upper Sylvia Guarracino.
For the seniors on the team, it was the last game they would play wearing an Exeter jersey. “The toughest part about today was knowing that it was the last game with our seniors,” Guarrracino commented. “Losing 0-3 isn’t fun, but it was the time we spent with our team and how we bonded that made it a great way to end the season.”
Hopes remain high for girls varsity soccer as they look to start a new campaign next year. Like all great bonded teams, they are certain to make a comeback.
