Hey, trendsetters!
Spring has arrived, and we are so very thankful. We’ve been experiencing temperatures well into the 40s and 50s and with that, outfits that have been miles less dismal. We’ve spotted Chris Lee ‘16 looking fresh in seersucker shorts, a pastel pink shirt and pastel pink and blue tie. Even though we’re moving out of winter and into spring, Braxton Harris ‘15 has been holding on to cooler days with his wonderful collection of scarves that make every outfit much more cozy. Caroline Lu ‘15 also kept up the striped theme with a blue and white striped skater skirt, a white floral blouse and super cute flats. Bringing warm beach vibes up to NH, Brooks Saltonstall ‘15 was seen sporting a statement look with a Hawaiian shirt and shorts. Rachael Johnson ‘17 has also been rocking the transition period with her gorgeous neutral textured coat. Finally, David Larar ‘16 looked delightful in a perfectly matched combination of a navy and yellow sweater over a navy shirt and sunny tie.
As we approach the season of music festivals, braids are coming out from hibernation! Not only are they hitting the scene around campus, but models in runway shows by Armani and Vera Wang have been seen rocking different variations of the classic braid. Miniature “hippie” braids, regal crown braids and voluminous fishtails are only a few of the intricate styles we’ve seen. Even models such as Cara Delevingne have been spotted in cornrows on the red carpet, adding edge and texture to an otherwise simple look.
With Easter comes the season of pastels. Pastels are to spring as furry coats are to winter. So out with the wearable comforters, and in with the cheery colors! There’s no better feeling than when your outfit matches the blooming flowers you pass walking to class. We’re really digging powder blue this season. From Essie’s barbados blue nail polish to a sleek pair of baby blue jeans, it can create a beautiful statement.
Finally, “Mad Men” is back with its eighth and final season, and we’re so excited to be immersed in the nostalgia of 60s/70s fashion. We’ll be met with bright colors, captivating patterns and (very) short skirts that will for sure get us in the mood for summer. As seen on the show, fringe is back from the 70s and ready to be incorporated into our festival season wardrobes, for which we are so excited.
xoxo,
Julia and Lexi
