Dearest Exonians, One more week! Believe it or not, winter term is coming to a close and we've made it to the final stretch of this desolate, desolate winter. For all of you seniors out there, you better be as excited as we are for senior spring in a few weeks! More importantly though, we've got some great looks for you to finish out the winter season.First off, Kieran McLean '14 has been flaunting his wonderfully homemade sweater these past few weeks. It perfectly blends chocolate brown with some threads of cream, making the perfect neutral look for snowy winter afternoons. Its homemade looks also adds some vintage flare, keeping it perfectly in style. As a matter of fact, it's quite the timeless sweater. Make us some, too, Kieran! Not to mention that it matches superbly with his heavy, dark brown snow boots, that add a great rustic look to his outfit. Bravo, Kieran!Alec Greaney '14 mixed it up this Wednesday morning for class with a Looney Tunes tie, fit for any occasion. Coming to the end of his club responsibilities, whether as sports editor for The Exonian or as website and streaming manager at WPEA, Greaney can finally let his wild side out, and this tie was a spectacular way to do that. With the awkward transition between winter and spring, our very own prep athlete Nico LeBlanc '17 has made a great transition between the two seasons with a bright orange vest to distract us from the dark (but getting brighter!) winter days. Spring time is all about bright, pastel colors, and Nico is already ahead of the game. Well done, bud!On a more classic note, the pseudo letterman jacket should be an essential part of every high schooler's wardrobe, and Brian Lynn '14 rocks that look on the daily. His simple, yet classic black and white jacket is a preppy classic, even though it's not an Exeter one. The jacket is meant to look great with a simple pair of jeans and converse sneakers, so these letterman jackets make a casual dress code outfit look even better! We love it when you have the courage to try a look completely unusual. This week, we spotted Torrey Foster ‘16 in a yellow plaid button-down and bowtie. What really topped off the outfit, however, were the suspenders. Belts tend to be the more common choice, but we admired Torrey’s bravery, and he actually pulled it off quite well! The gentlemen of the physics department sported the popular trend this week of funky knit sweaters over turtlenecks, a style that looks warm, comfortable and stylish, in a vintage sort-of-way. Mr. Robinson wore a navy cotton turtleneck, topped by a handknit cream sweater, with stripes of navy snowflakes and reindeers, complimenting the turtleneck nicely. The orange accents on his sweater truly made this look standout. Mr. Saltman chose a stone-gray turtleneck also topped by a cream-based handknit sweater. His sweater showed off some slightly less bold, but no less lovely, pattern than Mr. Robinsons, with some stripes of different abstract designs and shapes in pale blues. Mr. Blackwell also sported a dark turtleneck, but he opted for a more seventies-retro look with his sweater. The different layers of knit textures and dark colors made us wonder where he even obtained this gem. As you can clearly see, just because you don’t have the energy to put on a tie when the temperatures dip below freezing doesn’t mean you can’t look great. The faculty were really looking great this week, so we’ll give one more shout out. Ms. MacKean Davis pulled out a vibrant red maxi skirt covered in somewhat tropical, tribal patterns. She paired this with a simple black long-sleeve shirt and black leather boots, so as not to overwhelm our senses. Although bold, Ms. MacKean Davis certainly rocked this look and made some of us excited to head to warmer climates next week! The ladies of McConnell Hall brought out their new dorm gear this week: pale stone-blue quarter zip sweater-fleeces with an understated McConnell Hall embroidery near the bottom right-hand corner. It was such a refreshing change from the usual in-your-face logos we see from many dorms on campus. Looking good, ladies. One last thing—we would like to give a warm send off to one of the best-dressed, and let’s be real, one of the best all-around girls on campus. We’ll see you at grad, Mia! Take Washington D.C. by storm with both your keen whit and keen fashion sense! Forever yours and forever fashionable,Elle, Alec and Mia
