After carefully reviewing the pool of candidates (there was little debate), it is our great and utmost pleasure to endorse Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol as our nominee for 2024’s Husband of the Year Award. Mr. Yoon now makes it the third consecutive year of receiving the nomination, and we can only continue to beam upon this charitable and benevolent man and all the contributions he makes for his wife and beyond.

Who else but Mr. Yoon? Just hearing his name evokes a sense of comfort and professionalism, reminders of his stellar political record. What this man has done for Ms. Kim Keon-hee, his spouse of 12 years, is simply admirable. From sacrificing his political career to protect her from investigations of plagiarism to defending shocking accusations of resume falsification and rather rude claims of violating Korea’s anti-graft laws (and the many, many more audacious, revolting, poisonous things propaganda likes to stir up), Mr. Yoon has never faltered to shield Ms. Kim from these hypotheticals with an unwavering, visceral love.

How generous can this man get? After serving just over two years into his presidency, Mr. Yoon’s emanating kindness has shone through once again. In an effort to “share the air,” Mr. Yoon has announced to the world that his presidency is now available for all to share, intentionally carrying about what many would perceive as the most deleterious thing a president could do to deteriorate his image: announce martial law to a nation with a scarred history with martial law. It is genius. Not only does he inexplicably state his offer of resignation to the world in the most obvious way possible, but he’s willingly handing the job to what the media paints as his biggest political rival: Mr. Lee Jae-myung. They say it’s impeachment. We see it as an act of utter affection, allowing others to shine through and make a difference. What a man.

Vote Yoon 2024 Husband of the Year.
