How to Survive Winter Term at Exeter
Through roundtable discussion, and digging for symbolic meaning, I’ve chosen to look internally and find my own meaning for life. One thing I have learned from Exeter is that the school has numerous opportunities to discover your inner free spirit with deep Harkness interpretation, or in other words, Exeter makes it easy to become a hippie. Below are a couple of wintertime opportunities that I have pursued. 1. You can explore emotions such as frustration and apathy through art. Currently, I take ceramics and I find it quite easy to express my emotion in the clay. When I’m angry I spend the whole class slamming wet balls of clay into the table, and more than once I’ve been tempted to see how a wet clay slap-cam would turn out. When I feel lost I use funky color schemes. Best of all, I can hand make my own peace pipes! 2. DRAMAT offers various student plays throughout the winter. Personally, I joined one and found my calling in life. That’s right, I was meant to be a thespian. Screw college, Ill make it big in Hollywood, right??? 3. Dem club lets anyone in. At 6 on Monday nights, Rohan will be in Elm Street ready to brainwash you with liberal morals. 4. Rep club lets anyone in. It’s always the right time to hit on Alice. Winking at her while she lectures about the debt ceiling really gets me going. 5. Vinyasa Yoga EF with Ms. Foley is a perfect way to find your inner Zen. We lie on our backs, with our eyes closed, snoring to meditate. It’s not like we sleep.
