On Sept. 25, the Boys’ Varsity Water Polo team defeated Saint John’s Preparatory School in a home game, collecting their fifth straight win with a 22-8 game.

Exeter kept strong pressure on its opponent throughout the entire game, leading throughout the entire game and subbing newer players after the first half.

“I think our team outperformed at ball handling; we had good passing, and we had good ball sense. We were able to get the ball into the middle and get it to our set,” Prep Owen Lee shared. “The other team took many outside shots, which were easier to counter.”

“The game went very well,” reflected Upper Andrew Gao. “Our team worked together and brought outstanding coordination. Some of the players wanted to reach a 40-point lead, but we decided to limit our scoring to give some of the newer players more playing time.”

Lower Ethan Lu concurred, saying, “I’m thankful that the captains and upperclassmen gave me many assists and opportunities, allowing me to score my first goal of the season.”

Overall, the team dominated throughout the entire game and gave opportunities for newer players to get more experience.
