On September 25, the Academy’s varsity boy’s soccer team hosted New Hampton on Ralph Lovshin Field. They secured their first win of the season with an amazing final score of 8-0.

Sofian Lovato opened up scoring early in the game, getting Exeter on the scoreboard early. Charles Dobbins followed up not long after, earning a scrappy goal in the box. Alex Sahinoglu finished off the half strong with a powerful header off a corner, sealing the game for Big Red.

After the first half, Exeter ran rampant. Nick Miller earned a dribbling goal for the team, with Becket Moore adding a header. Max Sahinoglu converted a penalty from the spot, drilling the ball and making the keeper dive the other way. Yinka Oloworaran and Henry Warner added to the tally late in the game, putting Exeter up an emphatic 8-0. New Hampton had a couple of good chances, but goalies Sebastian Hiller and Dana Mussulman did well to deny them.

This win is a breath of relief for a Boys Varsity Soccer team that has dealt with a couple of tough losses early in the season. Lower Adrian Benenson remarked that the team was “very happy with their first win of the season.” Exeter looks to extend their winning streak this Saturday with a home game against Choate Rosemary Hall.
