Vets Lead Team

The girls’ varsity tennis team finished 3-4 last season, beat- ing Tabor, Choate and Northfield Mount Hermon. This was an improvement from the 2-5 record the team finished with in the previous year. With the team finishing with less wins than losses the past three seasons, they hope to push their record over 0.500.This year’s Varsity-A team consists of all returning players, so they hope to use their experience to their advantage. Through dedication and teamwork, the team looks to this year as a way to rebound from the past couple seasons. Meanwhile, the Varsity-B team with several new students, including two preps, will look to develop the young talent.Upper Callan Malone believed that the team will work hard this season. "Everyone is extremely dedicated and I have no doubts that we will work together to become a great tennis team this spring," she said.“All I can hope for is that we work hard and cooperate with a completely new team dynamic,” senior Meagan Daschund added. The teamwork of the six returning members will be able to even further boost the team chemistry this spring. "I think it will be fun to become even closer with these six girls and work to come out with a winning record in May,” Malone said.Upper Dana Tung expressed her excitement for this sea- son. “As a returning player, I'm excited to work together with everyone and build as a team over the coming season,” she said.Hopefully, all of the hard work Big Red puts in this year will surmount to a successful season.
