Top 3 Places to Eat Off-Campus
By HENRY WISE‘27
Every once in a while, it is very common for a student to want a taste of food outside elm, or any other place to get food on campus. Living on campus can be a drag, confined to all the same foods every week. Whether you want to stay near campus, or go a little farther, there are many places that would be perfect for students to eat off campus, but five stand out the most as places everyone should try outside of the academy’s borders.
For the third-best place to eat off campus, it has got to be Me and Ollie’s. Whatever you want, there is something there for everyone. The range of options at Me and Ollie’s is also one thing that makes the menu there so incredible. If you are there just to eat some breakfast, there are tons of options for you to choose from. If you are there to grab some lunch, there are still so many, and equally as good, options for everyone. You can go there, get the most delicious sandwiches, and be content with what you’re eating for a meal. Along with this, the coffee, smoothies, and other drinks are great. With the amazing variety of options, every student would be able to order something at Me and Ollies that they would love.
Another factor that makes this Place so convenient to eat at is how close it is to campus. From most dorms, Me and Ollie’s is no more than a five-minute walk from the Academy grounds, which makes it a super quick and easy option to get some food at. Along with the proximity to campus, one last thing that makes Me and Ollie’s so great is the incredible environment. At me and Ollies, you go up to the register, order your food, and pick a table to sit at. You are always able to have a place to sit down and get some work done for the week. No matter what you are looking for, Me and Ollie’s is a great place to get what you need.
As for the second-best place to eat off campus, we have Oba Noodle Bar. Although the building is small, the food really packs a punch and leaves a lasting impression on people. No matter what you order there, whether it be ramen, dumplings, or any other thing on the menu, you won’t regret going there as opposed to other options around Exeter. The food at Oba is really a huge plus.
Along with the food, one of the best things on their menu is the boba tea. The boba is always perfectly made, and the tea served with it is also an amazing drink on its own no matter what flavor you decide you want to get. Besides the food and drinks, Oba’s walkability is incredible, being about the same distance as me and Ollie’s and having food that is absolutely worth the short walk. Oba is one of those places that no one would regret going to for a meal. I would absolutely recommend everyone tries Oba, because it has to be a 10/10.
For the best place to eat off campus, with amazing food, drinks, and how it excels in every other aspect, we have Las Olas. Las Olas is basically just chipotle but ten times better. Las Olas has such a wide variety of options to choose from when you are making your bowl, whether you want no meat, pork, chicken, steak, or vegetable, Las Olas has all of those options for you to choose from. Along with this, at Las Olas the food just tastes incredible. Everything they serve from the meat to the lettuce is never low quality, and there is always everything you need, they never run out.
The wide variety of drinks to choose from in the drink fountain is amazing, whether you want to just get a water or if you want to get a soda with your meal. Another great thing about the drinks is the fountain drinks are free! If you are checking out and decide you want to buy a fountain drink, there’s no need to buy it. As long as you have your lion card you can show the cashier and they will give you a cup for a fountain drink free of charge. Although Las Olas is a little farther than most other places to eat around campus, the positives greatly outweigh the negatives, making Las Olas the best place to eat near campus.
Overall, Las Olas is the ideal place to eat if you want good food, good prices, and a good time. All three of these places are amazing to eat at, though, and I would highly recommend everyone try each one of them.
