“The Best Sister On Campus”: Angelina Gong

By   KAYLEE GONG ‘28

Dear, my sister, Angelina,

I’m not 100% sure why I’m writing this in the Exonian or why this short piece is in the humor section, but I guess it is. I just want to thank you for being the best sister ever.

Even past our hair-pulling fights in the backseat during a golf road trip or after you ran away to Exeter for three years, our mutual, unconditional love has always remained. Now, I’m here with you at Exeter just one floor up and a few doors down. You’re my built-in best friend when I want to complain about something and laugh. You’re the best sister in every situation, and I don’t know what I would do without you.

Although I have never admitted this to you and never will confess to your face, I missed you quite a bit during the past three years. Your vibrant stories always light up the room at night, and your insightful conversations with Dad always inspired me to learn more. On the strangest, lonely nights at home, I would wonder how to pay you back for shaping me into the person I am today. Your presence has truly changed my entire life, and I could never ask to be sisters with anyone else.

You’re funny, amazing, cool, and way too many adjectives I will never say to your face. I love you so much. You and I both know that this is way too sappy to acknowledge again.

Here’s to another year of stealing your clothes and breaking into your room mid-nap because now I’m here at Exeter with you.

Love you forever,

Kaylee
