Trendwatch

Hey guys!

To start off, we have a fashion tip for those of you who either have trouble finding what to wear in the morning or feel like you are not being true to your style. Chriselle Lim, a famous fashion blogger, gave an interesting fashion tip in her interview with “People StyleWatch” for their April 2016 issue, “Think about your style in three words. Mine are clean, polished and feminine. When I don’t know what to wear, I just go back to those.” Having a clear idea of your style can help you find inspiration, look fashion-forward and stay true to yourself. Fashion is a form of self-expression; you want to make sure that you are not too lost in the trends that you start lose your individual style.

For all you sneaker lovers out there, Adidas recently released new SS16 NMD_R1 colorways. The colors released were “Black/White,” “Black/Chalk White,” “Lush Red/Black,” “Salmon” and “Cream/Off-White.” Adidas also dropped photos of the “Vapor Grey” and “Vintage White” NMD_R1 colors, which are going to be released later this summer. The Adidas Originals NMD was first introduced in late 2015 and has become one of the highly sought out Adidas sneakers. These shoes sell out pretty quickly, so make sure that you keep on eye out for them if you want to own a pair.

This week, Myles Haigney ’17 channeled his preppy look with a patterned dress shirt, light blue shorts and sneakers. Euwie Park ’19 looked spring ready in her white flower dress, denim vest and heeled wedges. Jun Park ’16 looked classy at Peabody Tea in a tan blazer, white button-down and navy chinos. Alma Hong ’17 and Jenn Breen ’17 rocked maxi dresses at Bancroft Tea. Hong wore a navy maxi with white embroidering, while Breen wore a simple blue wrap dress with a flowing hemline. Kathryn McCaughy ’18 wore a matching set to Lamont Tea, which had a blue top and white and blue printed skater skirt.

We’ve been spotting new trends around campus that are easy for anyone to try. Flowy shorts are totally in, especially in printed and floral styles. Pair them with a basic tee and some cute sandals, and you have an effortlessly chic spring look. High waisted jeans and graphic tees are also popping up around campus. Check out Urban Outfitters and Rad to find the perfect graphic t-shirt for you! Hawaiian shirts are also cropping up around campus. They add a pop of color to any wardrobe.

Have a fashionable rest of your week!

Stay stylish,

Caroline and Tanya
