Looking Ahead: 2016

As the great Oprah Winfrey once said, “Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right.” This year is a leap year, which means many people around the world are finally having birthdays again. Besides that, here are some other things to look forward to in 2016...

1. U.S. Presidential Election

A momentous time for our nation (as well as perfect fuel for some great SNL election-related skits).

2. The Queen’s 90th Birthday.

Queen Elizabeth’s II real birthday falls on April 21, but the festivities don’t end when the clock strikes midnight. Her Royal Majesty celebrates both her actual birthday and her “official” birthday on the most pleasant Saturday in June. While it may feel like a bit of déjà vu when you see two celebrations within weeks of each other, just break out the leftover cake because she’s worth it.

3. Adele on Tour

Hello? Are you ready? The REAL Queen of England is back with a bang, and ready for a tour.

4. The Olympics in Rio

“Higher, faster, stronger” is the Olympic motto. The U.S. women’s soccer team is looking to keep their place on the podium.

5. “Finding Dory” Comes Out

The event all millennials have been holding their breath for since 2003.

6. Class of 2016 Graduates

Rain or shine, the members of the class of 2016 will grace the stage and finally feel the weight of a well-deserved Exeter diplomas in their hands. Whether their Exeter experience will be their peak, only time will tell.
