Hey Trendsetters,

As the weather has graced us with one last week of sunshine before we all go into hibernation, you can get your last few uses out of those cute mini skirts, sundress and shorts. This week, math teacher Aviva Halani looked gorgeous in a blue and white patterned maxi dress and cowboy boots.

Happy birthday Kendall Jenner! As of Tuesday November 3rd, the second youngest of the Kardashian-Jenner power family has crossed out of the teenage realm as she turned 20. Naturally, what else would the newly-adult Kendall Jenner receive as a birthday gift other than the coveted opportunity to walk in the Victorias’ Secret Fashion show? She’s already noted on Instagam that this is “the best birthday present EVER! It’s always been one of my biggest dreams to be on this catwalk.” Also announced in this past week was the casting of model Gigi Hadid for the show. We can’t be more excited for these two 20-year-olds to finally earn their wings!

With Rihanna’s announcement on November 3rd that she will no longer be performing for the Victoria’s Secret show, Ellie Goulding has been named as her replacement. This is bittersweet news and we aren’t too sure how to feel about it. However, it is reported that Rihanna canceled her appearance in order to work on her new album. So, maybe we can handle it. Anyway, Selena Gomez and The Weeknd are still scheduled to appear and we couldn’t be more excited for Ellie to be completing this trio of performances.

This past weekend at Lagos Fashion and Design Week, native Nigerian designer Adebayo Oke-Lawal really stood out with his unique “Orange Culture” collection of mensware street style. His playful attitude with color and intriguing hemlines definitely stand out. We love the theme of high-end casual with his combination of double breasted sport coats and native patterns. When asked about his inspiration for this new line and sense of style, he cites the overall culture in Nigeria for its “sense of adventure” and that “every trend, every style is invited.” Guys—take notes.

For all the best shoe trends that have been circulating this fall, the newest one to add to the mix is the backless loafer. While yes, we’ve loved the white sneakers and lace up flats, it was time for something new. Not only is this style chic and easy to pair, its comfortable! Earlier this year, we touched on the trend of comfort being more “in” than the past years, and the backless loafer just seems to be the cherry on top. Seriously, it goes with everything. Slip them on with a pair of skinny jeans and an oversized monochromatic sweater to look put together. It’s the new (actually cute) modern take on the mullet—business in the front; party in the back.

Until next week,

Julia and Lexi
