Trendwatch

Hey, trendsetters!

It’s sunny and warm, and we are so excited for it. Clearly you guys are too, and your fashion choices have been reflective of that—spring has finally truly sprung, and fleeces and layers are gone for good!

Thanks to this beautiful weather, we haven’t seen any outfits that were too terrible!  Caroline Davis ‘17 looked beautiful in a dainty white sundress and silver sandals. We loved Yena Cho’s ‘16 floral pencil skirt and adorable zebra graphic tee ensemble.  Rocking a bright blue leather jacket, Maya Perkins ‘16 strutted her street style with plenty of sass. Michelle Ysrael ‘15 killed it this week in a pair of tight green cargo pants paired with a black fuzzy bomber jacket. Also looking fly was Jonathan Regenold ‘15, who matched a striped blue and white shirt (with wooden buttons!) with salmon shorts. Olivia Reed ‘16 also looked enchanting in a dusty pink pleated skirt, over which she layered a stunning printed scarf. However, the star of the show this week was Christian Lutete ‘15 who rocked a gorgeous tailored pastel orange suit. He matched the suit with a lovely blue button up and was the poster boy for perfectly dressed men. Finally, modern languages instructor Richard Schieber looked great rocking cowboy boots this past week and added a little bit of attitude to the work uniform.

With the sun making quite an appearance, you might notice your eyes starting to hurt. Don’t fear! Doctors Butler and Bornemann are here to rescue those sensitive pupils!  First of all, you might want to consider investing in a pair of sunglasses. But, if you’re considering going for the typical aviator or wayfarer look, you might as well just stay inside. Acne’s new line of sunglasses has really come out with a bang. They have a statement piece to fit every unique personal style—their frames ranging from boxy to ‘60s inspired. Make sure to consider this Swedish company when looking into a new pair of sunglasses.

This past weekend was big for the boho scene, as it was Coachella! As expected, fringe was huge, as were clean cut white pieces. Hemlines were either extremely high or grazing the ground in flowy maxi dresses. Statement jewelry was also a popular choice, especially larger metallic pieces with medallions or layered over for a collared look. Men were seen styling classic ensembles of printed tees and shorts and added character with glasses and hats. With our own temperatures still increasing, these looks will for sure serve to inspire us to dress for summer!

Thats all for this week, folks!

xoxo
