Hello Pats and Seahawks fans,We understand that being creative with your wardrobe has been difficult this week with the blizzards and single-digit temperatures. Despite the weather, we still saw a few looks that stood out. One of them was Kenny Berger ‘15, who wore a crisp navy turtleneck and gray leather jacket. Matt Asante ‘16 kept out the cold in a very unique cobalt blue Patagonia with a multicolored aztecesque pattern and a pair of khaki joggers.Turtleneck expert Mitchell Kirsch ‘17 proved this week that it can always be the holiday season if you believe it is. Kirsch broke out a white turtleneck covered in christmas decorations during this bleak, blizzard-ridden week, and we absolutely adored it. Fun fact: this young Kirsch inherited all of his christmas turtlenecks from his grandmother, Gigi! There is no lack of style over there in the Kirsch household. We approve. After the Super Bowl, we were disappointed to notice so many Patriots jerseys on campus. The Seahawks have one of the best color palettes in the NFL. Regardless, all is fair in love and war. Jake Willet ‘15 paired his jersey with a furry Patriots hat with ear flaps that flew in the snowy wind. Speaking of the Super Bowl, we would like to discuss Katy Perry’s halftime outfit choice. While we aren’t so sure how we feel about her three dimensional flame outfit or the oversized jersey, we thought her beach ball outfit was cute enough, and we loved the backup dancer sharks during her performance of “California Girls.” #LeftSharkForLife
Outside of the Exeter bubble, the fashion world experienced some excitement this week. Apparently, the Kanye West and Adidas collaboration has caused such a commotion that there is now an app that will let fans have immediate access to the collection when it debuts during New York Fashion Week. Also, Natalie Portman’s new film for the Miss Dior campaign has made serious waves in both the fashion world and the world in general. The advertisement features Natalie as a runaway bride with the dreamiest French Riviera backdrop and innocently rebellious “sorry dad” attitude. If you spend your time looking at fashion ads on youtube, which we assume you all do, you should definitely check it out.Last week also marked Chanel’s Spring 2015 couture show. 300 handmade flowers decorated a runway of simple, elegant looks in garden hues. The show consisted of many bright slouchy skirts, structured jackets, crop tops and a variety of knit and floppy hats, creating a new twist on the classic Chanel look. Good job, Karl. We love you.Until next week, babes. Stay stylish. Stay foolish.xoxo,Helen and Millie
