Hello frozen fashionistas,
While we were trekking through mountains of snow, we saw some solid looks on campus this week. English instructor Matt Miller wore a unique brown corduroy jacket with shearling lining. He paired it with faded maroon corduroys and leather boots. We also discovered that Sterling Weatherbie ‘15 knows how to rock a winter hat. He rocked a fur-laden trooper hat while trudging through the accumulating snow and we were thoroughly impressed.
We would also like to note the growing number of turtleneck and sweater combos popping up on campus. A number of boys were seen sporting this look, including Ernesto Brown ‘16, Marq Shieber ‘16, Max Kirsch ‘16, Henry Behrens ‘16 and Sterling Weatherbie ‘15 (on fire this week).
Outside of the snowy Exeter bubble, there were a few exciting events in the fashion world this week. This week was the debut of Giorgio Armani’s Armani Privé Spring 2015 collection. The show gave off carefree East Asian vibes and the runway was full of gauzy bamboo prints, flowing skirts and pants that were then complemented by structured jackets and bold, statement earrings.
In other news, Karl Lagerfeld plans to have actress Kristen Stewart in his next Chanel campaign, along with British punk model Alice Dellal and French singer and actress Vanessa Paradis. The combination will certainly make for an interesting and edgy couture look.
With Abbot Casino coming up in a few weeks, some of you may still be struggling in your search for the perfect outfit. Dare to try something different this year. Mini dresses will always be cute, but maybe try a midi dress with strappy pumps to compliment the dresses length and coverage or, if you’re really daring, the right jumpsuit with the perfect pointed toe heels to take you into the night.
Also, never forget menswear! The perfect velvet blazer and a pair of trousers can be accentuated by a bandeau and a pair of heels. Capitalize on this, and you can forget about buying a dress, wearing it once and then hiding it in the back of your closet.
xoxoxo,
Millie and Helen
