Dearest fashion enthusiasts,
It was the best of times and the worst of times this week. Beginning with such a warm Monday before a dreaded return to below-freezing temperatures for the rest of the week, it’s easy to lose hope. But fear not, fashionable friends, for all is not lost.
This week in the fashion world, Kim Kardashian revealed the cover of her selfie-book that she is publishing this week. It boasts some of the most “fire” selfies we’ve seen this year. Kimmy K looked absolutely ravishing and we can’t wait until the release of the book, entitled “Selfish,” which chronicles a decade of her selfies (a feat we could only dream of until now).
In other news, Gucci appointed a new creative director, Alessandro Michele, after the unexpected loss of their previous director, Frida Giannini. Alessandro Michele was previously the head of accessory design at the company, and we can’t wait to see the waves he’ll make with the iconic brand.
This past Friday, iconic supermodel Kate Moss celebrated her 41st birthday in style. Even at 41, she still looked fabulous strutting around in the usual leather and faux fur mix. Happy birthday, Kate!
Speaking of fabulous, we saw quite a few solid looks on campus this week. Holden Hammontree ‘15 rocked a tweed blazer, navy button-down with polka-dots (or maybe they were diamonds, they were so small), and a knit tie. Isabel Bitman ‘17 looked super edgy in a leather jacket, black wrap skirt, green sweater, black tights and heeled black booties.
Dana Yu ‘15 looked absolutely ethereal in her paisley crop top with bell sleeves and high-waisted black jeans, bringing a little bit of Coachella to New Hampshire months before Drake performs.
Cornelia Smith ‘15 gave us artsy vibes with a cropped fuzzy maroon sweater, destroyed boyfriend jeans, white Vans and a gray peacoat. We would also like to point out that Dean of Faculty Ronald Kim looked classy as ever in a light blue checked button down and a perfectly matching yellow and blue striped tie.
If you’re having trouble finding fashion inspiration while also staying warm we have a few ideas for you. We love fur accents. For example, a furry infinity scarf will keep you warm and sassy as ever. Accessories are important. Don’t forget about hats. The homeless beanie look can actually be chic when paired with a structured silhouette. In terms of sweaters, cashmere is always super warm and classy. We also love furry mohair. You can even make a simple sweatshirt look cool with a pair of sleek leggings and leather boots.
xoxoxo,
Helen and Millie
