Happy Thursday Fashionistas,
Although the term is beginning to dwindle down, the looks on campus don’t seem to be. We are glad to see that the outfit game is still on point—keep up the good work people. This week we saw some cool looks, including two camouflage pants sightings. Ruby Fludzinski ‘16 rocked a pair of faded green camo pants with a black sweater and black suede ankle booties. Paul Ahern ‘17 also pulled off the camo skinnies with chunky dark brown leather combat boots for a super punk look.
Maegan Moriarty ‘16 rocked the shearling trend with an edgy black shearling vest. Speaking of black, Hannah Mackay '17 wore a black t-shirt, black scarf and some daring heeled black ankle boots, while fellow Bancroft beauty Dana Yu '15, wore a black halter top and knee high, lace up black boots, with a white lace skirt and army jacket.
If you're looking for a custom pair of Prada loafers, which we know you all are, since we wake up everyday wishing we had a pair of custom made Prada loafers and we assume that you all do too, and if any Exonians find themselves in Beverly Hills, then stop by the Prada store to make yourself a pair of microsoles that come in over 32 variations. For those a little further north, it is also at their Holt Renfrew Yorkdale location in Canada. In December, the program will move to the Miami Design District location.
As it gets darker and colder, it can be difficult to dress practically and stay warm. If you’re at a loss, a turtleneck can actually come in handy, especially with the men since it removes the hassle of wearing a tie.
Although the traditional turtleneck look may seem frumpy or outdated, taking a new twist on it can create a sleek, new look.
For example, you can layer a dark colored turtleneck with a brighter sweater and moto or leather jacket to create a look that will be warm and make a statement. Turtleneck sweaters can also look super cool. Pair an oversized turtleneck sweater with boyfriend jeans and heeled booties for a chic look. Throw a structured coat over your look for extra warmth.
We also love grey. It’s cozy, comfy and softer-looking than black and great if you feel like wearing dark colors, but not looking too depressing. You can also mix different shades of grey without creating a clash, which can happen with other colors (unless all of those shades of grey happen to be in sweatshirt and sweatpants form).
We hope these ideas help you stay warm and fashionable for these next few weeks. Don’t forget to pull out the red this weekend as we face our rival at E/A!
xx,
Helen and Millie
