EXETER/andover

With fire red lion rampants dashing across the sidelines holding the Exeter flag and athletes in red football jerseys crushing down their counterparts dressed in unimpressive blue, the annual fall Exeter/Andover (E/a) games will be held this weekend at Andover.

Starting with the Snake Dance, which will begin at Ewald Hall and Main Street Hall, E/a events will officially begin tomorrow. At 6:30, Principal Tom Hassan will arrive at the softball fields with the iconic bon fire broom, and at 7:00 p.m. Pep Rally will begin at the Stadium, or the Love Gym depending on the weather.

This year’s red bandits will be seniors Joey Bolden, Calvin Luo, Hannah Fuller, Braxton Harris, Peter Magnuson, Sabrina Movtiz, Joe Platte and Jad Seligman. Out of the red bandits, Harris, Platte and Seligman will be the lion rampants.

Fuller, one of the red bandits, said that she’s been wanting to become a red bandit since her prep year and expressed her excitement.

"I'm just really looking forward to bringing energy and spirit to one of my favorite events at Exeter," Fuller said.

"The red bandits are a tradition that I have wanted to partake in since I was a prep and it's exciting to finally get to be one!"

Movitz, another red bandit of this fall’s E/a event, said that E/a will not only be exciting but also bittersweet.

"I always have thought it looked so fun to show school spirit on E/a weekend like that, and now I'll be able to do it in a kilt and face paint," Movitz said. "I feel like E/a, and being a red bandit, is one of those times you can just go crazy and be really silly and loud. I can't wait to make a fool of myself and have some good laughs with people I've spent the past four years with."

Fuller said that since this year is her last year at Exeter she’s especially excited for E/a and that she hopes the football team will make a comeback and defeat Andover.

Movitz echoed Fuller’s sentiments and said that she’s most excited for this year’s pep rally.

"I'm most excited for the pep rally this year. It's my last one, and I've come to realize E/a weekend is my favorite time of the year," Movitz said. "I can't wait to cheer Exeter on one more time."

Other students also expressed their excitement for the E/a events. Just like Fuller and Movitz, lower Cameron Gruss said that he’s most excited about pep rally and the football game.

"I’m most excited to see everyone all cheer for our school," Gruss said. "I want to see the excitement during the pep rally and the energy during the football game."
