Happy Thursday, fashion-inclined friends,You may have thought London Fashion Week would be the end of it, but it is fashion month. These shows seemingly never end, and we love it.Milan Fashion Week took place after London’s spotlight, and classic names made waves in this Italian fashion capital. First off, Miuccia Prada’s vision for her spring/summer 2015 show became real with both her dedication to the craftsmanship of garments, and her attention to the details of actual show itself, down the rolling, lilac sand dunes that framed the paths for the models. Kendall Jenner also made several appearances in Milan from Emilio Pucci to closing the Dolce Gabbana show, front and center.Back in New York, fashion still lives on with Mary Katrantzou’s collaboration with the New York City Ballet. As one of four collaborators this season, she has designed costumes for Belles-Lettres, a ballet choreographed by Justin Peck. Her costumes are quite similar to her spring/summer 2015 designs with a nude base and delicate embroidery, only now she must design for movement rather than for solely aesthetics. We also noticed some solid looks on campus this week. Caroline Grace ‘17 wore a navy blue jacket with ivory knit embroidery for a really classy look. Julia Bornemann ‘16 also looked marvelous in an edgy knee length grey full skirt with black zip down the back, simple salmon colored tank, black heeled ankle booties and an olive leather backpack. We also saw some fabulous fall shoes this week. Katie Ying ‘15 strolled across campus with grace in structured maroon leather loafers. Annie Choi ‘15 also looked super cool in edgy black platform booties which we loved. On a slightly different note, shout out to Dean Kim for his decked out golf cart, complete with feather boas and balloons—a great way to ride in style.Keep up the good work fashion friends and enjoy the fall weather while it lasts.xoxo,Helen and Millie
