Dear Exonians, We’re almost there! This week we saw a few shimmering rays of sunlight forbearing the warm of the spring to come along with some wonderful pre-spring outfits. Oh, if only it were warm already.First off, we have Joohwan Kim ‘14 who has been flaunting his newest find: a unique Comme des Garçon black and white polka dot cardigan. Easily paired with a relaxed pair of jeans and casual sneakers, the sweater definitely stands out in a crowd. It’s hard to match other patterns with polka dots, but Joohwan has done a fantastic job of keeping his outfits intricate without clashing patterns and colors. Nicely done, Joohwan! The combination of warmer weather and prep school usually yields some brightly colored pants. We loved the bright orange pants sported by none other than Kevin Zhen ‘16. He even made the bold decision to substitute his belt for black suspenders, and his yellow, magenta, and teal floral tie really topped off this funky yet preppy spring look. Peter Christie ‘16 pulled out a pair of vibrant teal pants that caught our eyes from across the quad. He paired these with a navy tie striped with unique thin gold stripes. We look forward to seeing what other colors of the rainbow appear on gentlemen’s legs this term.We also loved Sarah Chisolm’s 14 Wednesday morning look, rocking a light wash denim jacket with a flowing long-length skirt. The contrast between the structure of the jacket and the fluidity of the skirt grabbed our attention, which of course was a great start to our gloomy Wednesday morning. Two or three morning classes does not typically urge Exonians to dress their best, but Sarah certainly did!On the other hand, we’ve noticed a great deal of bucket hats around. They’re without a doubt a trend that’s taking over campus, especially among the PGs, whether or not we like it. Ryan Conte ‘14, Miki Ljuboja ‘14, Mark Zavrl ‘14 and JD Slajchert ‘14 simultaneously sported the bucket hat look this week. Whether they wore them ironically or not, they really do seem to love the bucket hat. Lazaro Cesar ‘15 even took it a step forward and wore a salmon-colored bucket hat to accompany a more casual post-class outfit, which added some great flare to an average weeknight.Yours,Elle and Alec
