Life Advice

K0ala_R0ckStar: Some girl asked me if she could go to Klatsch with me, but I had a different girl in mind. What could I do about this? OG_SimpLawd: Even in the early terms of the school year, this can be a common dilemma for an Ewalder. Personally, I think letting her down easy is the best policy. Telling her you already had someone else in mind is always safe, but if you’re feeling a little dangerous you could tell her that you’re ordering a calzone instead of going or simply that you have a girlfriend. HarrisonByGuy: I keep going to bed late and waking up late. I’ve gotten into this spiraling predicament where I’m always too tired or just too pressed for time to get breakfast. For the remainder of the day I’m often starving and low on energy. What are some techniques that you two use to keep your sleep schedule “on point”? OG_SimpLawd: On weekends especially, if you know that you’re most likely going to lose track of time and end up watching movie trailers or playing Slenderman with some of your friends, I’d suggest setting a timer to remind you that you need to hit the sack. Yoosk: Try to keep your sleeping schedule on point by starting out the week healthily. Try to get at least eight hours of sleep on Sunday night. This will require you to finish the majority of your work on Saturday though. It might be fun once in a while to stay up with your friends but you have to keep your priorities straight. If you’re still feeling lethargic, listen to some pump-up songs like “The Final Countdown” by Europe. WhippingCat: It’s Sunday and I live all the way across campus from Elm Street. It’s also raining, I’m not trynna make this walk, what do I do? OG_SimpLawd:Supreme’s: (603) 778-8304Romeo’s: (603) 772-3633Front Row: (603) 777-0047Pad Thai: (603) 658-0130 Exeter veterans are well aware that if you dial one of these numbers, all your troubles will go away. On a Sunday like this, don’t be hesitant to order yourself a fresh batch of struggle soup. Yoosk: I agree, but if you’re dead broke like me, try to find some friends in the dorm that are willing to make the long and harsh journey to Elm. Lippylip_: Exeter’s weather has been getting me down recently, and I need something to get my creative juices flowin’ again. What would you guys recommend? OG_SimpLawd: Put yourself in a positive environment. As the weather progressively gets better, you’ll find more and more people doing their homework and relaxing outside. A pretty popular upper, Michael Baldyga, has an interesting approach to keeping his spirits up. Not only do his fish help to keep him company during his lonely nights, dozens of motivational posters around his room also help to keep him on track with his studies and social life. When I’m feeling a little lost, I always find myself asking one question: what would Noah Wright do? This might help you evaluate your life decisions and really organize your life. Yoosk: Believe it or not, random YouTube videos can help you be inspired. If you’re looking for something creative, hit up the video “Fresh Guacamole” by PES Films. It will blow your mind. Or you could try meeting new people and absorb new ideas/opinions. You might want to hit up some kids in Ewald, I’ve heard that most of the guys there are charismatic, charming and intelligent (especially that kid from Guam).
