Hey Exonians! After too many days of polar vortex madness, I think everyone is ready for a radiant spring. On the bright side, we're more than halfway there, and with midterms behind us it's time to look forward to shorts and rolled-up sleeves.Even though we may be drawing closer to the spring, we still have a few weeks of chilly wind and snow, so we might as well make the most of our best winter pieces. Sabrina Movitz ‘15 is already a step ahead of us. Flaunting a Gatsby-esque boiled wool Cloche hat, Sabrina brought us back to the elegance of the 1920s, no matter how cold it may be outside. She bought the hat locally, too! We also spotted Sabrina wearing some handmade, ball of colored string earrings. These fun accessories added a splash of color to the winter gray. Also showing off unique earring this week was Ms. Breen. She paired short dangling earrings with a hint of sparkle and a little purple with a simple black turtleneck sweater. Not only did she manage to dress appropriately for the weather (we’re talking to you, girls who think its okay to wear a skirt and no tights when it’s below freezing), but she also provided a great contrast between her simple top and elegant earrings. Ms. Breen never fails to catch our eye with her classy and beautiful, yet completely functional wardrobe.Winter may be the time for down-jackets and peacoats, but Kieran Minor ‘14 just went ahead and sported a great muted-green corduroy shirt and a wonderfully matching dark brown quilted vest, all tied together with a patterned navy scarf. Wearing muted colors is a great way to avoid the darker, more depressing shades of black and grey that winter brings along, which puts Kieran way ahead of the curve already. What a major accomplishment (get it?) for this senior!Although clothes are great, one of the biggest recent trends on campus has been swapping traditional glasses for a more vintage look. One of the front-runners in this growing trend, Jackie Kim ‘14 occasionally takes in the world through a vintage pair of round, thin-framed glasses for quite the “hip scholar” look. Sometime matched with her banana-yellow winter jacket (which actually zips over her head to look like a banana), you can’t miss this kid. Eve Friedland ‘14, who recently purchased a new pair of glasses, looks more like Karl Marx brooding in the library than an Exonian. The small, yet noticeable, glasses add a fresh touch to her outfits, and doubles as the first step in writing a socialist manifesto.Ariel Kim ‘16 dresses to a T everyday. Her soft color blocked turtlenecks and bright polos matched with an adorable smile and fantastic selection of boots make this girl a standout in the world of Exonian fashion. This week, she kept it simple and comfy with a range of neutral tones. Her canvas-and-leather tall sorels complimented her moss-green long sleeve polo, and to complete the looks she pulled out very unique patched jeans. The whole look gave a slightly rustic-vibe—something we don’t see too often at prep school. Props to Ariel for taking a risk! We certainly think she was successful.Good luck surviving the polar vortex, Exonians! 'Til next week,Elle, Mia & Alec
