Trendwatch

Happy Midterm, Exonians,We salute you for coping with this eclectic New Hampshire weather. It seems like it’s spring one week, and winter in northern Canada the next. Even through the rain and the cold, you have managed to impress with your attempt at wearing something other than leggings and an Exeter sweatshirt. The always fashionable Natalie Pompos ‘14 blended shades of brown for her outerwear earlier this week, with a dark leather bag, a cozy, thick, tan sheep-hide jacket, snakeskin flats and of course those lovely blond locks. A little glimmer from oversized gem earrings and Natalie’s charming smile gave this neutral-toned outfit a little sparkle. We wish we could put Natalie in trendwatch every week!Lily Friedberg ‘16 has one of the most interesting senses of style on campus. We love that she has no fear of rejecting the current trends and wearing whatever works for her. Her cheery smile always compliments her signature braids. This week, we especially appreciated her light-stone, blue checked pants. They added a preppy splash of color to the drizzly day. We’d like to give a shout-out to a few unique pieces we spotted on campus this week. Quincy Tichenor ‘15 veered away from the usual trend of light-tan winter boots, with two-toned, two-textured Timberlands. A rich chestnut leather on the bottom keeps his feet dry, while green canvas on the top provides a nice contrast. This boy is always well dressed from head to toe—take cues from this kid, everyone. Another well dressed Exonian with a unique piece this week was Anisha Nawalrai ‘14. This lady has long deserved a place in trendwatch with her refreshing colors and patterns. Her sweaters put a new spin on classic styles, and this week we adored her cream sweater with the occasional hand-print-sized gold star.On the other hand, just because it’s freezing cold outside doesn’t mean that we can only wear darker colors. Az Nalbandian ‘15 sported a great pair of floral-print pants along with the classic Bean Boots in snowy weather. The unique bright-colored pants added some needed color to Exeter’s snowy campus, especially when temperatures dip into the single digits. Meshach Peters ‘14 also killed the pants game with a pair of low-crotch joggers covered in grizzly bears, because why not? Somehow he pulled them off as a part of a dress code outfit, and it looked pretty darn cool. He pulled the look together with a sweet-structured, grey backpack that contrasted perfectly with his loose pants.Classing it up this week was none other than Exeter’s mutli-talented Nikhil Raman ‘14, who dressed to impress this week in a formal-style knee length wool trench. Not only did it protect him from the cold, but added the perfect sophistication to every day dress code. Well done, Nikhil!Luke Browne ‘14 also classed it up in a knee length navy blue pea coat paired with a navy-blue dotted tie and navy pants. Good job Luke.We caught Paola Otero ‘14 looking absolutely fabulous in a black and white tribal-print sweater, tan bottoms and kicks. Much love to this softball queen and her fabulous high bun! Also looking great in the winter weather was Ade Ajanaku ‘14, who paired her green and blue knit sweater with basic black pants and ankle boots. This girl and her beautiful smile lift our spirits every week! All and all a good week in the world of Exonian fashion, you have exceeded our low winter expectations with ease. Keep it up!XOXOElle, Alec, and Mia
