Trendwatch
Happy Halloween, Exeter! We must say, you all looked gorgeous this week at Halloween assembly. Congratulations to Sam Blank ’14 and Alex Trudeau ’14 for winning the costume contest! These gentlemen dressed as two enthusiastic Canadians, and completed their outfits with red and white body suits, hockey gear, winter hats, shovels and charming Canadian accents. The word moose was dropped more than a few times, and they certainly had the audience laughing. Well done, boys. Everyone on stage looked fabulous, and some were even so bold as to hardly wear clothes at all!We know that we trendwatch him every week, but we think that Mr. Ibbotson deserves another shout out. While most faculty members show up in dress code, Mr. Ibbotson always pulls out his Halloween best. This year, he came as Godzilla with a tie, and we have to say it managed to make Calculus even more frightening than usual.Helen Edwards ’15 showcased her lovely hair as Bubbles from the Powerpuff Girls. Shining from head to toe in blue prints, Helen combined an amazing printed yellow, green and blue shirt with a blue crop top and a blue skirt. She finished her outfit off with a pair of sparkly jelly sandals fit for Bubbles herself. Bubblicious!Uppers and seniors will appreciate the costumes of Carlyn Scheu ’14 and Sean Haggerty ’14, who went as Daisy and Gatsby from “The Great Gatsby” by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Carlyn looked lovely in a white ruffled flapper, silver shoes and flapper-esque headband. Every girl needs her Gatsby, and Sean looked dashing with a sharp vest, tie and blue button down.On the other hand, preps Luis Ochoa ’17 and Nico LeBlanc ’17 rocked the infamous crazy horse head masks for the first part of the morning. Even though neither of them showed off their mammalian side for too long, the horse head is always a classic. Sporting another Halloween classic, even though there was no costume involved, Torrey Foster ’16 simply showed up to class in the ever-so-festive Halloween black and orange. Paired with an orange sweater, Torrey kept his look clean with a black vest, bringing back easy colorblocking - Halloween style.Ashley Baxter ’16, kept the spirit of Halloween up as well, pairing simple black riding boots with orange knee- high socks. Way to go!Keeping our revival of Bachelor/Bachelorette of the week going strong, our special Halloween edition Bachelorette of the week is none other than Bancroft’s Hannah McKay ’17. Spending her summer at the Mariinsky Ballet Theater in St. Petersburg, Russia (aka Russia’s, and thus the world’s, most renowned ballet theater), Hannah is known for her incredible dancing abilities. Other than being essentially flawless in the world of ballet, Hannah also helps her dorm’s seniors combat the omnipresent Senior Fall struggle on a regular basis. On the morning of the SATs, a group of Bancroft preplings, lead by Hannah herself, traversed town in order to bring the stressed Bancroft seniors Dunkin Donuts. Now that’s what we’re talking about! She’s artistically talented and she understands that doughnuts are the remedy for the struggle. In our humble opinion, she’s quite the catch.Happy Halloween, Exonians! And remember, you can send your Bachelor or Bachelorette of the Week to the three of us via email, text (if you’re cool enough to have our numbers) or in person! Stay fresh, stay fine, stay fun, Elle, Mia and Alec
