Trendwatch
To our most fashionable followers, After the first week of classes and nasty thunderstorms and dark-colored rain jackets, we know that we’re not the only people excited to finally see some sunlight peeking out behind the clouds.First up on our list of style-greatness is Lakin Vitton ’14 and his unique multi-panel colored pants. Covered in pink, blue, yellow, and white panels, Lake’s pants mirrored his colorful personality (not to mention how it complemented his colorful hair). Also rocking a vibrant look was none other than Kieran McLean ’14, adding some color blocking with his purple shoes and tie—we can dig it. Taking a more simple approach to adding colors to their outfit was Jenny DiPietro ’14, who sported a great turquoise chain necklace, adding some much needed color to these past few rainy days. Two lovely ladies were spotted wearing some vividly patterned boots on Monday. Stuart Faith ’14 pulled out a sassy pair of short black leather boots, but her kicks provided their own spin on the popular motorcycle boot trend with an insert of a South of the Border inspired colorful print, lined with feisty metallic studs. Erin McSally ’15 also sported boots with a funky trend, but hers are instead complemented with brown leather, which allowed us to focus on the beauty of the rest of her outfit!Making a fashion choice with a maturity beyond her years new lower Jennifer Shang’15 rocked an amazing all black ensemble. She wore a draped black dress with ankle high little black boots. Can’t wait to see what else you put together, we’ve got our eye on you!Quinn Larkin ’14 made a bold choice this week when he pulled out a shirt covered in every boy’s childhood favorite: dinosaurs. This light green shirt with semi-realistic outlines of all the classics- stegosaurus, triceratops, and t-rex (we think, we don’t really remember our dinosaurs), this shirt really turned heads. Quinn paired it with a denim-blue tie with small white polka dots, a subtle accent for the attention-grabbing button down.Ben Hogoboom ’15 showed that Exeter nerdiness that we all embrace at one point or another with a “pixilated” tie. This red and black tie was cut to give and 8-bit appearance, and we could almost see Ben jumping alongside Mario to save Princess Peach.Making a long due Trendwatch debut this week is a favorite in the math department, Mr. Ibbotson. Mr. Ibbotson always impresses us with outrageous ties. We’ve spotted him with mathematics inspired ties, and even a Looney Tunes tie. Even when wearing a full banana suit, Mr. Ibbotson ruthlessly adheres to the dress code and throws on a tie of his choice. This week, we spotted the math-guru summoning the gods of his Chinese fortune sticks while wearing another of his classic outfits—a white shirt with a floral tie that harkened back to the eighties with neutral floral print, which allowed one to focus on the showpiece of his outfit, the fez that we’ve spotted him in occasionally. It’s a wonder that our predecessors never noticed him!Another faculty favorite is the wonderful Mr. Aaronian! Fashionably representing the science department he wore a under the sea themed tie with gorgeous, multicolored fish all over. Nice work!A multitude of fantastic fashion statements have been made in Ghana, the newest being that of Katherine Callahan ’14. Thank you for gracing the twittersphere with a picture of your amazing blonde box braids girlie, you and the rest of the troupe look positively fantastic! Signing off until next week,Elle, Mia, and Alec
