Trendwatch: Special Edition

Greetings, Exeter! First, we’d like to shout out to ourselves for looking fabulous all the time: Katy Kinnon ’14, Claire Keating ’14, and Alice Ju ’14. Secondly, we’d like to shout out to the Exonian Executive Board for not having any control over the Humor Editor.Spring has sprung, and people are wearing spring clothes. This is literally the most obvious thing, but we’ve seen old Trendwatches and this is how it’s done. On a more serious note, stricter teachers will be glad to hear that length is back in. All around campus we’ve spotted maxi-skirts and dresses billowing softly in the Spring breeze.Tert Squad seems to have impressed the school with their swag skater style, as we’ve seen several pairs of Vans appear on campus. We loved the blue tie-dye pair of Nick Storozynski ’13, giving an edgy skater feel to his otherwise classically prep school outfit. A pair of Hawaiian printed Vans added an unexpected pop of color for Rajan Varma ’15. David Ayscue ’14, also kept his feet fresh with a pair of white Vans with white mid-calves.Funky sneakers seem to be the trend this spring, with wedge-sneakers adding a boost to the outfits of Alero Egbe ’13, Trang Duong ’14, and Yena Cho ’16. Special shoutout to Julie Moon ’13 for her hot pink pair, showing her willingness to experiment with fashion just as she does in writing. Emma Kim ’16 sported her signature look, with a cute collar over a classic blouse. Aliabdullah Saroya ’15 looked dashing in a silk tunic while simultaneously using his ethnic wear to evading the dreaded collared-shirt-and-tie. Rebecca Ju ’16 looked purr-fect in an A-line miniskirt, featuring a frisky feline design (Meow Meow!! >^.^<). Maya Corrin’15, wore a dark blue floral print dress with a flirty cutout in the back. Keep up the fun prints coming! We saw a bohemian look on Sabrina Movitz ’15, who wore an eggplant tiered maxi dress. Though you were dresscoded, we thought you looked fantastic. Katharine Callahan ’14, also looked stunning in a flowing above-the-knee length orange dress. And Mia Collins ’14 rocked a sherbert-mint sheath, keeping in step with the spring styles.Uppers looked stunning at Upper Dinner. Particularly Jessica Michaels ’14 in a pinstriped dress featuring pastel colored planes. Also looking good was Hannah Wellington ’14, sporting a pale pink lace dress with a sweetheart neckline.Stay out of trouble and watch that pollen count! Stay fabulous! Xoxo, Claire, Alice, and Katy. P.S. Upper class…you can still send in your apps for next year’s Trendwatch writers! Directions are in last week’s column. Send to cbeck2@exeter.edu, gespinoza@exeter.edu or jmohammad@exeter.edu ASAP!
