This week’s sunshine incited Exonians to break out their summer clothes! Shorts abounded, but a few stood out to us as being a cut above the rest. Julia Kim ’14 played with proportions, choosing paper-bag shorts in chambray. She kept the look sleek in a yellow trench and black espadrilles, showing that polished can clearly still be fun! Eve Friedland ’14 went for an athletic-style fit for her culottes. Cute ties on the legs, a bold tropical print, and delicate crochet shirt effortlessly tucked balanced the cut of the shorts perfectly, creating the ultimate spring flirty look. The maxi-dress trend from last week has stayed, although shifting from winter-spring transitional to warm-weather ready! The jersey of last week has become delicate silk chiffon in lovely watercolor hues. Tez Clark ’13 chose a gorgeous dress with a mid-thigh lining, center slit, and floor-length floaty crepe chiffon overlay. The sheer bottom and robin’s egg blue swirl, and delicate dangly earring with which Tez accessorized suggested boho-romantic, with a modern twist. Keh Odusote ’13 brought a smile to our faces in a vibrant yellow maxi skirt, again in crepe chiffon. Kay’s look balanced sweet with tough with her choice of studded black suede smoking slipper and stunning statement necklace.Making edgier choices this week was the always stylish Ruby Fludzinski ’16. We loved her interesting take on the classic gladiator sandal. In cobalt blue, the sandals were made of little bungee with gold accents. Very chic Rubinski! We also loved Derek Zheng ’13 in a pair of thin cut khakis lined with premium denim (not chambray).Chris Keating ’13 and Manny Making ’13 both made statements at upper dinner. Manny looked dapper in an ivory blazer with olive colored elbow patches. His dark-wash denim slacks and white Nikes were perfect additions to the bold blazer. As for Chris, he rocked a spectrum of green: a dark green baseball cap with a K for Kentucky Derby , an heirloom from one of his previous coaches, and a forest green button down. We love a man who isn't afraid to combine various shades of his favorite color!Ms. Foley wore a pastel yellow top with a ruffled collar and cuffs this week. The top worked well with a neutral gray cardigan and indigo bottoms.Duncan Robinson ’13 worked his signature color , pink, various times this week. He looked especially adorable in a short sleeved, tribal print pink button down. At the gym, the talented athlete added hot pink mid-calves to the average grey and black gear.Ms. Christine Robinson, the original alt, has been showing all Exonians that, with the right accessories, a flannel and loose jeans can look chic and sophisticated. While in Jordan, Ms. Robinson acquired her signature jewelry which truly add a twist and personal touch to her ensembles. This week she wooed us with: a thick Palestinian necklace made of small silver links, a metallic cuff, and cowgirl boots from Durango with a simple R.This week’s column is a bit shorter than usual because we wanted to take the time to invite you to apply for Trendwatch!
