An Artistic, Humorous, Avant-Garde Take on Haiku-Style Poetry

Winter term is cold.

Oh, so very, very cold.

Why is it so cold?

I’m an editor

For the humor page and I

Am writing this now.

I want to go to

EP with a cute, tall boy.

Yet, I go alone.

Humor is better

Than the Opinions section

Ha ha ha got ‘em.

Friendship’s a virtue.

Then again, so is good food.

More pizza for me.

Sometimes I wonder

What is the meaning of life?

I think it’s D Squared.

Upper year is hard.

I have so much work to do.

I am suffering.

The D-Hall pork buns

In Elm the other day were

Pretty good, yummy.

Sniffle, sniffle, sniff.

Sniffle, sniffle, sniffle sniff.

I have a bad cold.

Screw writing haikus

Syllable counting is hard

So I literally don’t care how

many syllables this last line has.

A haiku is like

A normal poem, except

Haikus are not hard.

Have you ever made

A haiku while exhausted?

Please just let me sleep.

Amen Hall, red hot!

Amen Hall is the best dorm

At least on South Side...

What did you just say?

Cilley hall is just better

Than your awful dorm.

Rude, rude, rude, rude, rude!

So, so, so, so, so, so rude!

Billy, don’t be rude!
